BIRMINGHAM, AL --- Hisham (Shaun) Sori has been named director of fiscal integrity for Baptist Health System (BHS) according to Alan Bradford, BHS chief human resources officer. Sori assumed BHS responsibilities on October 5, 2009.

As director of fiscal integrity, Sori will direct all procedural and substantive elements relating to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program.

Prior to joining BHS, Sori was the claims resolution manager for managed care at Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA) in Birmingham. In this role, Sori was responsible to identify and investigate root causes for denial payments and underpayments. He also served as a senior auditor in corporate compliance at SCA.  

Sori is a certified internal auditor and earned a BBA in accounting from Auburn University - Montgomery and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
