In 1980, Baptist Health System and the Baptist Health Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Section 202 program, received funding to build housing for the elderly. Eventually, nine apartment complexes were built and continue to operate today.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must be 62 years of age or older. Applicant's annual income must not exceed the HUD published very low income limit for the area in which housing is located. Resident's portion of the rent is calculated based upon their income less qualified medical expenses.
